Trosseau "Trotty" was the son of Trosseau P. and Wilma A. Heck of Muncie, Indiana. He was always known as Trotty by all who came to know him. He had a wide array of talents and interests. He studied music at Ball State University and graduated with a major in trombone. He was also an accomplished pianist, and his adult life was spent playing jazz throughout the Midwest. Trotty was an avid race fan and spent the month of May at the Indianapolis 500 track, as well as many hours wherever there was a race. One of his greatest joys was the opportunity to ride in an Indy car at the famed oval, a gift from Never Too Late, an organization making wishes come true for seniors. The many years he spent at the track produced volumes of photos that illustrated yet another talent. Trotty's photography engaged many and gave hours of pleasure to others. Trotty married Barbara Gentry McCool, also a graduate of Ball State, on May 2, 1964. Together, they shared their love of music, racing and travel throughout their 45 years together. Trotty is survied by his step-son, Michael McCool; and family members, Maxine Figgins, Beverly Stanford, and Mildred Frazier, a niece and several nephews. He is also leaves many friends who will remember his laughter, his humor, and his incredible talent. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, April 26 at 2 p.m. at Faith Presbyterian Church, 82nd St. and Hague Rd., followed by a celebration of life from 4-7 p.m. at The Jazz Kitchen, 54th St. and College Ave. Memorial contributions may be made to Ball State University Foundation, Attn: Trotty Heck Memorial Scholarship Fund #5787, PO Box 672, Muncie, IN 47308.
